IARU Contest at Knox Mountain
July 2014
This afternoon I hiked to Knox Mtn with my daughter who is visiting
from Hawaii. I worked France, Sweden,
Germany, Russia, Estonia, and Denmark operating for 20 minutes
in the IARU contest. We had a great hike.
I brought the KX3 and a 30 foot wire which I threw over a tree
branch and used as a vertical. I sat
in the shade in front of the pond and made some quick contacts while
Mom and daughter relaxed in
the shade and chatted for a while. Here's the log:

The propagation was good, and I felt as if I could make many
more contacts. But we had
plans for the evening and headed back after a beautiful visit at the
wilderness cabin.
