Cookie Contest Along the Pemi
June 2018
This afternoon I rode my bicycle down to the Pemigewasset River to
work the
Cookie Crumble contest. It was really beautiful there and I made 10
QSOs.
I rode about a mile north from Shaw Cove. The river is stunning.
I tossed my 30 foot wire over a pine branch and set up the KX3
alongside the trail. The view was
fantastic.
I started out on 20 meters. The first station I heard was my buddy
Tim,
W3ATB. He was set up on Carter Mountain... maybe 6 miles away. And
next... my old friend Carter N3AO. What a treat. Both 20 and 40 were
quite active. I operated as a designated Cookie Monster. Anyone who
worked
me received a 13X multiplier. Here's my log:

After operating for an hour I packed up and headed back. What a
perfect
afternoon.
Once back home... I had a special bonus. While I was putting my log
together,
I heard Emily... the Cookie Queen herself, calling CW. We had a
wonderful QSO.
