Spring at Livermore Falls
May 2018
I made a quick trip to Livermore Falls in Plymouth NH. It was a
beautiful
afternoon and I worked 11 stations in the CWT sprint.
The site is stunning with a rare pumpkin seed bridge (long out of
use)
spanning the Pemigewasset River. The remains of an old factory stand
on the west side of the river. This afternoon several boys were
swinging
from the rocks into the river. They flew out on a rope hanging from
the bridge.
I set up my KX3 and 30 foot wire high above the river alongside the
tracks from
the Plymouth and Lincoln Railroad. My wire was in a tall pine tree
and sloped
a bit toward the south.
20 meters was pretty dead until 3:00 pm local time when the sprint
started. Then... there were stations everywhere! Here's my log:

I only operated for about 20 minutes. But what a treat. A
perfect
spring afternoon, a perfect location and some pretty good
contacts for an impromptu portable operation.
