40 Acre Field by the Pemigewasset River
    September 2020

Judy and I rode our bikes along the Pemigewasset River this
afternoon. What an afternoon! Only 60F, but beautiful and
very warm in the sun. I worked ten stations. Most of them
were in the Washington Salmon Run, but one was in Hawaii!

We stopped after a mile and I took a quick snapshot of the river.

After riding some more we reached a large field along the river. It
    was a
perfect spot... protected from the strong breeze and very warm in
    the sun.
I set up my KX3 and tossed a line 40 feet over a maple branch. I
    pulled up
    a 30 foot wire.

Signals on 20 meters were strong. Mostly stations from the
Washington state QSO Party. I worked
    a bunch of them.

Before shutting down, I switched quickly to 30 meters and made one
    contact with
a Rt. 66 special event station from Kansas. After this I walked
    through the field for
a half an hour before heading home.

The smell of fall is in the air... and it's certainly getting
    cooler.
